Aye Aye Captain! Be a Pirate on Put In Bay Saturday June 26th! Rrrrr Matey, we are heading over to Put in Bay to invade the island with a bike outing on Saturday, June 26th. Wearing of pirate outfits is optional. We will be heading over on the Miller ferry at 10:00 am, which you pick up off OH-53 Catawba Island exit 124 off OH-2. The ferry runs every 30 minutes, so if you can’t make the 10 am, catch another one and give me a call at my cell (see distribution email) we can let you know where to meet us. There are several free parking lots around the ferry and a couple lots that charge a fee, but try to find a free spot and save your money for food & drinks on the island. The ferry costs $8.00 per person each way/$2.50 for bikes. Pirate Fest Planned Events A Pirate marketplace and displays A kid’s fun fest Black powder firing demonstrations. Each day of the event there will be multiple activities, performances, and fun to be had. You’ll be sure to have a good time participating in pirate themed events throughout the festival. Watch as scurvy bearded pirates demonstrate sword fighting techniques, as well as the art of skullduggery. Kids will have the chance to practice with foam swords also! DeRivera Park is home to many of the activities. Here, the pirate encampment will enchant. Catch a glimpse of the past with pirates and more carousing about the island.
