Ski Breckenridge with the Lewis Ski Club

Trip Includes:

• Round trip direct flight air from Cleveland to Denver (United)*
• 7 nights ski-in/walk out accommodations at the Mountain Thunder Condo in Breckenridge, CO
  • 4 people per 2 bedroom / 2 bath condos
• Roundtrip charter bus transportation: Denver to Breckenridge (includes one hour grocery stop)
• 5 of 7 day lift tickets (skiing/boarding) at: Breckenridge, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin** with option for 2 days at Vail and/or Beaver Creek (6 day lift ticket available for additional $28)
• Welcome and midweek parties
• $15 lunch vouchers for each day ski lift ticket purchased, valid at Vail owned restaurants
• Day charter transfer between Breckenridge and Vail or Beaver Creek - (additional charge applies, group pricing based on number of participants.  approx. $45 - $60).  Must inform trip leader prior to Tuesday Oct. 7, 2014 if charter transfer desired.
• Free transportation between Breckenridge/Keystone/A-Basin

* Does not include baggage fees, any additional fuel surcharges, or airport fees, which may be imposed by the airline prior to departure.  Lewis Ski Club also reserves the option to change to other airlines as fares change.

** Arapahoe Basin is not Vail owned and wil NOT provide the $15 lunch voucher.

Post Trip Summary

The Breckenridge, CO 2015 trip began with some interesting situations but then went smoothly throughout the trip.  We prayed for snow and we got snow, both in Denver and Cleveland. J Denver airport shut down and Cleveland flights were delayed due to heavy snow and further delayed and finally cancelled…. We were rescheduled for Sunday on 7 different flights for 52 people.  Some of us went on a side trip in Nashville, TN to the Grand Opry hotel or went downtown to take advantage of the four hour layover. We ended up with 2 groups. The first arrived to the Mountain Thunder Lodge in Breckenridge at 6pm.  The second group arrived in Breckenridge at 2 am on Monday morning.  “Talk about a long day ….”

Once we arrive to Breckenridge, the weather was great in the Breckenridge area with mostly sunny Colorado skies.  Unfortunately, we did not make it to Vail this time since we lost a day due to travel/weather. Since our lift tickets were interchangeable, some stayed at Breckenridge, while other skied at Keystone or A Basin. On Thurs a group of us ventured to Beaver Creek.  Everyone had their own favorite mountain.  A really nice perk was that we got a Vail promotion of “ Lunch on Us” at Vail resorts. This means we get $15 per day food card for every day we are on the slopes. That was convenient and sweet…. Breckenridge is an interesting historical town with a mining history and has great shopping and restaurants.  We had a mid-week party at Quandry Grill in downtown Breckenridge. For our large group of skiers, it was a great place to eat and socialize.  On Friday a bunch of us took advantage of First Tracks and got out on the slopes at 7:30am. Yee Ha !! Many are still excited about that…

We’re not sure if it was the altitude, travel fatigue, or a flu bug that went through our group or even a combination of all 3, but we had some health issues and a couple of injuries.  Our flight back was less problematic and overall it was an awesome ski trip.  As usual, we held a picture party for after the trip. Many participants submitted many trip pictures at the picture party  and had a great time socializing and sharing trip experiences. Until next year……

Complete the Trip Application and Agreement Form.  Renew your club membership via our online membership form.  Please send completed trip application form and non-refundable deposit, payable to "Lewis Ski Club Inc."

Payment Schedule:

$450 due now, non-refundable
$500 due Oct. 21, 2014
$500 due Dec. 9, 2014

Include extra cost for optional day transfer to Vail or Beaver Creek (additional charge applies) and optional additional extra day lift ticket cost to Breckenridge ($28) as applicable with final payment.
